*TRAVEL ADVISORY UPDATE* State Route 70 is now open. At about 4:16PM yesterday the Nunda Police Department responded to a single motor vehicle accident involving a semi with a tanker trailer containing motor oil. The trailer went off the shoulder of the highway causing the semi to roll over. The driver of the truck was not injured. Consequently, due to the property damage and some of the oil spilling, the driver was issued a citation for driving across hazard markings on the highway. The Nunda Police Department was assisted by the Nunda Fire Department, Mount Morris Fire Department, Canaseraga Fire Department, Livingston County Hazmat ,Livingston County Office of emergency Management , Nunda Ambulance, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, Norfolk Southern Railroad and T&R towing. APRIL 4, 2018 The Nunda Police Department reports the arrest a Nunda woman on the charge of Harassment in the 2nd degree a violation. At approximately 3:20 PM Officer Dale responded to a complaint on North Church Street that occurred at around 2:50 PM involving an on going issue between two neighbors. After conducting an investigation, Officer Dale placed Miranda Newland under arrest for Harassment 2nd. Newland was arraigned at the Nunda Village Court and released on her own recognizance.
